Extended Itinerary
Hey, we're making it a vacation, you can too!
If you're coming early or staying later, we have a loose itinerary of events you might want to join us for.
Friday, March 3 | Sinead's Ireland Hen Night Contact Grainne for details. |
---|---|
Saturday, March 4 | Jan's Ireland Stag Night Contact Chris for details. |
Sunday, March 5 - Tuesday, March 7 |
See Ireland! It's a gorgeous country, and a few hours by car or train can take you to some amazing places. We have a small group heading to the west coast, past Connemara to The Olde Castle Guest House in Renvyle for Sunday and Monday nights. We've booked the entire B&B, and we have two full minivans. If you're not already in this party but want to tag along, that's great! but you'll have to make your own transportation and lodging plans. There are other B&B's in the Renvyle area, some of which are closer to the pub. Tuesday night pub: The Porter House (more info) |
Wednesday, March 8 - Thursday, March 9 |
Dublin City Lots of Yanks are arriving to Dublin mid-week, and We'll provide discounted City Bus Tour tickets, good for 24 hours, so you can tour the city in style. Be sure to stop at the Guinness Storehouse and the Jameson Distillery. And when they ask for volunteers at the end of your Jameson tour, be the first to volunteer. You'll be well rewarded. Bridal party dinner: ~7pm Wednesday night pub: The Brazen Head (more info) |
Thursday, March 9 | Travel to Glendalough. Tour the monastery. While Sinead gets her hair done Thursday afternoon, some of us are planning on an informal hike in Wicklow National Park in the afternoon (weather permitting). Bridal party rehearsal at the church: 5:30pm Thursday night pub: The Glendalough Hotel |
Friday, March 10 | Wedding Day ... Glendalough is a little too far away from Dublin for our bus connections to help us out, so please be open to carpooling with others en route to the church. There are also taxi services in the Laragh/Glendalough area that the hotel can help you arrange, if needed. Irish weddings tend to go on for a long time. Bring your dancing shoes. Be prepared for some Irish Ceili Dancing as well as a Disco. Then, when the music shuts down, watch the party move to the Resident's Bar next door. (If you're staying at a local BnB, rumor has it they won't check room keys at the Resident's Bar that night.) |
Saturday, March 11 | "A hair of the dog that bit ya" at the Resident's Bar, to help you get over that awful hangover. The crowd is dispersing on Saturday, most heading back toward Dublin (see Getting There for some transportation coordination, and Where To Stay for lodging hints), and we're going to try to be scarce, so yer pretty much on yer own by Saturday night. |
